Confidas uses the entire cacao fruit in its delicacies

Did you know that for centuries only one third of the cacao fruit was used to make chocolate? Only the beans were considered valuable, while the juicy pulp and thick peel were usually discarded. A shame, because the cacao fruit has so much more to offer. Confidas is breaking with this old habit and has developed a unique pâte de fruits that makes full use of the entire cacao fruit. The result is not only a surprising taste experience, but also a sustainable creation that helps reduce waste and bring more value to local farmers.

Fighting food waste

Reducing food waste is one of the most effective ways to combat climate change. By making use of the pulp as well, Confidas helps build a more sustainable future. At the same time, Ecuadorian farmers gain an additional source of income — boosting wages by up to 10% and creating new jobs in local communities. A true win-win.

Up to 70% fruit purée in every bite

Since 1982, Confidas has been making pâtes de fruits from an original recipe with at least 50% fruit — always free from preservatives, artificial colourings or flavourings. With this new innovation, the company introduces three varieties that showcase the entire cacao fruit: pure cacao fruit, cacao nibs, and pure chocolate. Each treat contains more than 70% fruit purée and highlights every part of the fruit: the pulp, the roasted bean, and the chocolate made from it.
